I’m going to share a truth bomb with you today: If you don’t think something is possible, then it’s not. 

 

That thing you’ve been wanting will not be possible for you until you believe that it is.

 

I recently had a conversation with a woman who told me that because of her chosen profession (she was in the veterinary field, but the level doesn’t matter for this conversation), it was impossible for her to be happy.

 

She told me that her profession in general is undervalued, underpaid, and overworked. Therefore, she could not be happy.

 

Here’s the thing.

 

I’m not here to argue with you. If you truly think that you can’t be in this field AND be happy? Then that’s your choice and I won’t try to change your mind. Because once you’ve made that choice, that you can’t have both, then you CAN’T. (Of course, that brings up the question, why are you still in the field?)

 

It won’t be possible for you. You’re convinced, so you won’t look for opportunities that could change your world. You won’t look at your own mindset to realize how much you’re in victim mode (“my own mindset is completely dependent on my surroundings, and I have no control over those, so I’m stuck being unhappy”). 

 

You won’t look at people who ARE happy and in your same field (therefore proving your theory wrong), and realize that they are an example that it IS possible for you (they aren’t that different from you, so if they can do it, so can you!).

 

Basically, when you’ve decided something is not possible, your brain becomes incapable of seeing all the ways and evidence that it IS possible!

 

Instead, what if we came at a situation thinking “Maybe I don’t know HOW it’s possible yet, but it’s what I want and someone else has done it, so I’m at least open to the fact that it IS possible, even if I can’t see the steps yet…”

 

How much more is possible for you when you just tweak the thought process a little bit?

This is the difference between being helpless, in victim mode, and being empowered in your life.

 

You don’t have to know HOW it’s possible to be open to the fact that it IS possible.

 

But only when you think it IS will the HOW be able to appear to you.
